Finding a Massage and Spa Near You: Is It Open, Who Can Enter and What to Ask Before You Book

When you search for a massage or a spa "near me", the pin at the top of the map is not always the right place for you. Before you set off, three things are worth checking: is the place open today, what time is the last appointment, and can someone who is not staying at the hotel walk in? This guide goes through those three checks and puts the hours and entry details of all ten Beatus Spa locations into a single table.

In this article
  1. What does a "massage near me" search show, and what is a hotel spa?
  2. How can you tell that a place is open?

We cannot see where you are, so we cannot tell you which location is closest to you. What we can give you is a way of checking for yourself, wherever you are. To see the locations side by side, open the Beatus Spa locations and hours page; for the six Istanbul locations there is the Istanbul spa page, and for Trabzon, Ordu and Uzungöl there is the Black Sea spa page.

What does a "massage near me" search show, and what is a hotel spa?

The results mix independent salons, day spas and hotel spas.

A hotel spa is the spa area inside a hotel, and it can be open to people who are not staying there.

Google's business profile help pages say that local results are based mainly on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is how well the business information matches your search. Distance is how far the business is from you; if you have not shared your location, Google uses the location it already knows. Prominence is how well known the business is. So the result at the top is not simply the nearest one; it is a blend of the three. That is why a quick check is worth more than trusting the first pin.

The places in a single search tend to fall into one of these types:

  • Independent massage salon: a business on a street or in an office building that offers massage and little else.
  • Day spa: a facility where you can spend part of the day using the pool, hammam and similar areas without staying overnight.
  • Hotel spa: a spa inside a hotel, with its own entrance or access from the hotel lobby. All ten Beatus Spa locations are of this type.
  • Thermal spring facility: a separate type of venue that works with spring water. Our article on the difference between a thermal spa, a hot spring and a hotel hammam explains it in detail.

The Beatus Spa locations are inside hotels. For Ordu we can state the relationship plainly: Beatus Spa runs the spa at the Radisson Blu Hotel Ordu. Knowing which type of place you are looking for quickly rules out many of the pins on the map. A hotel spa usually also has wet areas such as a hammam, a sauna and a steam room, which you can treat as a separate option from massage.

How can you tell that a place is open?

Read the hours on the map listing, then separate closing time from last appointment.

If you are not sure, send one short line to the location's WhatsApp number: the listing gives you information, the location gives you the answer.

"Open" covers several different situations, and it helps to keep four of them apart:

  1. Are the doors open? This is the opening time shown on the business profile. Google's help pages explain that a business can enter special hours for particular days such as holidays, and that a seasonal business can be marked "temporarily closed" outside its season. If you can see special hours on the profile, rely on them; if you cannot, ask.
  2. Is the service you want available at that time? Two locations show this clearly. At Mahmutbey the spa and fitness area is open from 08:00 to 22:00, but massage starts at 12:30. At Ordu the spa opens at 12:30 and massage sessions start at 13:00. If you are heading out early in the morning, "open" is not enough; what you need to know is whether massage is available.
  3. When is the last appointment? Closing time and last appointment are not the same. The Osmanbey location closes at 22:00 and the last appointment is 21:30. At Harbiye the last appointment is 21:00. At Trabzon the last appointment is one hour before closing for a massage, and two hours before closing if you are booking a massage and the hammam together.
  4. Do the records agree? The hours on a map listing and the hours the location itself gives do not always match. Ordu is an example: the location told us the spa opens at 12:30, while some listings may show a different time. When that happens, the hours given by the location come first; confirm on WhatsApp.

A practical routine: read the hours on the map, ask when your service starts and when the last appointment is, and only then head out. Those three steps spare you a wasted journey. For the hours themselves, see the table in the section on each location below.

Are spas open on public holidays and during bayram?

The Maltepe location is open on public holidays. For the other locations, ask about holiday and bayram hours before you book.

Which days count as public holidays is set out in Turkey's Law No. 2429 on National Holidays and Public Holidays. Under that law, 23 April, 19 May and 30 August are national holidays. The Ramadan Bayram runs for three and a half days starting at 13:00 on the day before, and the Sacrifice Bayram for four and a half days starting at 13:00 on the day before. New Year's Day, 1 May and 15 July are also public holidays. Republic Day begins at 13:00 on 28 October and continues on 29 October.

This list does not mean a spa will be closed on those days. Each location decides its own working pattern. If you are planning an appointment in a bayram week, confirm both the day and that day's hours on WhatsApp, and keep the reply as a message.

Can you use a hotel spa without staying at the hotel?

Yes. At Beatus Spa locations you do not need to be a hotel guest. You can book an appointment and come in.

A few details change what is included, and they are listed below.

That answer holds for all of our locations, but "you can enter without staying" does not mean every area is open to everyone. Four details are worth knowing so that you arrive with the right expectations:

  • Osmanbey: guests who take out a fitness membership can use the pool, sauna, steam room and gym. The hammams are open only to treatment guests, that is, for the length of their session.
  • Maltepe: the hotel's pool is not open to spa guests. The location has a sauna and a steam room, and no hammam.
  • Uzungöl: the location is seasonal. As of 20 October 2026 the season is closed; the location that is open in the same region is Trabzon.
  • Pool rules: at Ordu, Trabzon, Mahmutbey and Güneşli a swimming cap is compulsory in the pool, and at Trabzon and Mahmutbey a swimsuit is required as well. It is easiest to bring both with you. Caps are sold at Ordu, Mahmutbey and Trabzon.

For the general picture of using a hotel spa when you are not a guest, you can read our first-time hotel spa guide, and for what to ask, questions to ask before booking a hotel spa.

Location by location: what time does each open, when is the last appointment and where do you enter?

The table below repeats what the location pages say. Hours and last appointments can change, so confirm on WhatsApp for the day you are going.

LocationHoursLast appointmentEntrance
Osmanbey (Şişli)08:00–22:0021:30Hotel lobby, spa on the 7th floor
Harbiye (Şişli)10:00–22:0021:00Hotel lobby, floor -1, stairs only

Ordu (Boztepe)12:30–23:00Last session 22:00Hotel entrance, floor -1, lift or stairs
Uzungöl (Çaykara)Closed for the seasonNoneWrite to the Trabzon location

Three points are worth noting when you read the table. The first is the Ordu row: the working hours start at 12:30, but the last session is at 22:00, and the 23:00 closing time on the location page differs from the last session, so use the "last appointment" column for Ordu. The second is Mahmutbey: the spa opens in the morning, while massage starts in the afternoon. The third is Maltepe: ask the location for the last appointment time; ask the location.

At Esenyurt the last appointment varies between 20:30 and 21:00 depending on the service. If you plan to arrive late, write beforehand and ask what can be offered at that time. If you want a massage and the hammam together, starting earlier makes it easier for both sessions to fit.

Where do you enter, and what about parking and access?

At most locations you enter through the hotel lobby or the hotel car park.

The locations gave us the parking details below; ask once more for the day you are going.

  • Osmanbey: the hotel car park is open to spa guests and there is a valet service. Ask the location about the parking terms.
  • Harbiye: the hotel car park is open to spa guests, and the location says the valet service is free of charge.
  • Mahmutbey, Güneşli, Esenyurt, Sapanca, Trabzon and Ordu: these locations report that parking is free of charge. Esenyurt also has a valet service; Mahmutbey, Sapanca, Trabzon and Ordu do not. For valet in Güneşli, ask the location.
  • Maltepe: the car park is open to spa guests and there is no valet service. The location did not state whether there is a charge.

The way in also differs. Mahmutbey has an open-air car park and you enter through the main lobby on the ground floor. At Güneşli you go in via the car park and the lobby. At Esenyurt you go down to floor -1 from the car park or the hotel entrance. At Sapanca the spa is on the ground floor of a separate building in the hotel garden.

On access, the locations where we can say something definite are these. Wheelchair access is available at Mahmutbey, Güneşli, Trabzon and Ordu. It is not available at Osmanbey, and at Sapanca it is not available at the moment. The Harbiye location is on floor -1, reached by stairs only, with no lift. For Esenyurt and Maltepe, ask the location about wheelchair access; if access matters to you, ask the location before you book.

Which metro, metrobus or cable car stop is closest to each location?

Osmanbey, Harbiye, Güneşli and Maltepe are each a walk from a metro station.

The nearest metrobus stop for Esenyurt is Cumhuriyet, and the Ordu location is a walk from the Boztepe cable car station.

The times below were measured with Google Maps walking and driving directions on 7 October 2026 and are approximate.

  • Osmanbey: 4 minutes on foot (300 metres) to Osmanbey metro station (M2). The closest exits are Pangaltı and Dolapdere.
  • Harbiye: 10 minutes on foot to Taksim metro station (M2), and 11 minutes on foot to Taksim Square.
  • Güneşli: 3 minutes on foot (230 metres) to Mimar Sinan metro station (M9).
  • Maltepe: 8 minutes on foot (500 metres) to Maltepe metro station (M4).
  • Esenyurt: the nearest metrobus stop is Cumhuriyet.
  • Trabzon: 10 minutes by car to the city's Meydan square and 14 minutes by car to Trabzon Airport.
  • Ordu: 4 minutes on foot to the Boztepe cable car station.
  • Uzungöl: 2 kilometres to the centre of Uzungöl, the mosque on the lakeshore.

For Mahmutbey and Sapanca, use the directions link on the location page or ask the location how to get there. You can find line names and routes on the Metro Istanbul website, in its "Hatlarımız" (Our Lines) pages, and its "Nasıl Giderim" (How Do I Get There) section helps with route planning. The M2 line runs between Yenikapı and Hacıosman, the M4 between Kadıköy and Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and the M9 between Ataköy and Olimpiyat.

The Trabzon location is in Boztepe. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism's promotion portal, Go Türkiye, presents Boztepe as a hill overlooking Trabzon and starts the morning part of its Trabzon route there. You can make the spa part of a wider trip; for ideas, see our things to do in Trabzon guide, and for a Taksim day, things to do in Taksim.

What if the location nearby does not offer what you want?

Ask for the service before you travel. If it is not offered, look at another location in the same area or at the next one along.

What is missing at which location is worth knowing in advance:

  • Maltepe: no hammam. There is a sauna and a steam room. If you want a hammam, one of the Istanbul locations that has one may suit you better.
  • Ordu: facials and skin care are not offered, and there is no skin-care room. The hammam, sauna and steam room are shared; there is no separate women's hammam.
  • Esenyurt: no jacuzzi and no VIP room. There is no pool. The women's section has a hammam, a sauna, a steam room, a massage room and a relaxation area.
  • Harbiye: no pool. The hammam rooms are separate for women and men; there are also a hammam for couples and single-person hammams.
  • Osmanbey: the hammams are open only to treatment guests.
  • Trabzon: the hammam, steam room and the upper-floor massage rooms are reserved for women throughout the day; the lower floor is shared.

Where two locations are in the same district, it makes sense to look at both: Osmanbey and Harbiye in Şişli, and Mahmutbey and Güneşli in Bağcılar. Of our neighbourhood guides, things to do in Taksim and the Güneşli spa guide may help. If you are not sure which type of massage suits you, see our massage page, and if you are curious about a hammam session, our Turkish bath page.

Which five questions should you ask before you book?

Ask about hours and last appointment, the length of the service, whether the hammam or sauna is included in the session, the way in, and the cancellation terms.

Five short questions bring a quick answer.

The International SPA Association (ISPA) consumer guide suggests phoning the spa before your visit to ask your questions, and speaking up during the treatment if something is not right. The same guide recommends arriving about 30 minutes before your session and asking about the cancellation policy when you book. Building on that, these are the points to settle in your conversation:

  1. Hours and last appointment. Ask for the opening time and last appointment on the day you are going. The question "is it open?" includes both.
  2. Name and length of the service. Ask which massage is done and for how long, and what the total time will be if you want to add the hammam. Confirm the length with the location.
  3. What the hammam, sauna and pool cover. Ask whether they are used together with your session or need a separate booking. At Güneşli, for example, the hammam is set aside for each booking; at Osmanbey the hammam is used only for the length of the treatment.
  4. Entry and changing. Ask where you go in, about parking, and how the changing arrangements work. Locations provide the peştemal (the cotton hammam wrap); ask the location about slippers, towels and similar details.
  5. Cancellation and changes. Find out when you book how to change or cancel an appointment. The terms can differ between locations.

On cost, we do not publish figures on the site. What affects pricing is explained in our article on how massage and hammam prices are set, and for current information you need to write to the location's WhatsApp or phone line.

If you would like a wider checklist, see the nine questions in our article on how to choose a massage spa; we have not repeated them here.

What if you have a health condition?

If you have any health condition, are sensitive to heat or are pregnant, speak to your doctor before the sauna, hammam or a massage.

You do not need to put health information in a WhatsApp message.

The US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) advises anyone thinking about having a massage to discuss their concerns with a health care provider first. The Harvard Health Publishing sauna page lists general precautions too: avoid alcohol before and after the sauna, cool down gradually, drink plenty of water after each session, do not use the sauna if you are ill, and leave if you feel unwell. These are general pointers; for your own situation your doctor's view is what counts.

For the message itself a simple principle works: put the location, date, time, number of people and service in WhatsApp, and tell the massage specialist about any health matter at the start of the session. That keeps your message short and keeps personal information out of it unnecessarily.

How do you write the booking message?

Include the location, date, time range, number of people and the service. Your name is optional.

Ending with a question about the last appointment answers the "is it open?" question too.

There is no online booking engine; each location has its own WhatsApp and phone line. The number for each location is on the call card at the bottom right of the location's page. The template below works for most locations:

Hello, I would like to book at your [location name] location on [date] between [time] and [time] for [number] person(s). Could you tell me which massage types are available, how long each takes, and whether I can add the hammam or sauna? What is the last appointment time that day?

The one thing the template deliberately leaves out is health information. The location's team answers WhatsApp messages; the locations told us that most reply within a short time, and that this can be longer at busy times. If no reply comes, it is reasonable to write again after a while or to call the location's phone line.

Language support differs between locations. WhatsApp messages written in Arabic to Harbiye and Mahmutbey are answered in Arabic, while at Ordu replies in Arabic are not offered and you should write in English. For the languages spoken at each location, see our massage near me guide for visitors in Istanbul and Trabzon. For a comparison of locations by district and journey, read our guide to choosing a spa branch in Istanbul.

Frequently asked questions

Can I go to a spa and have a massage without staying at the hotel?

Yes. At Beatus Spa locations you do not have to be a hotel guest, and you can come with an appointment. At Osmanbey the hammams are open only to treatment guests; at Maltepe the hotel's pool is not open to spa guests; and Uzungöl is seasonal and closed as of 20 October 2026.

How do I find a spa that is open?

Look at the hours on the business profile, then ask on the location's WhatsApp line whether the service you want is available at the time you plan to go, and when the last appointment is. Closing time and last appointment are different things, and at some locations massage starts later than the spa. Do not rely only on a live status shown on a map; confirm by message.

What time is the last appointment?

It depends on the location. It is 21:30 at Osmanbey and Sapanca, 21:00 at Harbiye and Güneşli, between 20:30 and 21:00 at Esenyurt depending on the service, and the last session at Ordu is 22:00. At Trabzon appointments run until one hour before closing for a massage and two hours before closing for a massage and hammam. For Maltepe, ask the location.

Which locations have a hammam?

Osmanbey, Harbiye, Mahmutbey, Güneşli, Esenyurt, Sapanca, Trabzon and Ordu have a hammam. Uzungöl has one as well, but it is seasonal. Maltepe has no hammam. Whether the hammam is separate for women and men or shared differs by location; see the relevant location page for the detail.

Which location is on the metro?

Osmanbey, Harbiye, Güneşli and Maltepe have a metro station within walking distance: Osmanbey (M2), Taksim (M2), Mimar Sinan (M9) and Maltepe (M4) respectively. The nearest metrobus stop to Esenyurt is Cumhuriyet. Ordu is a 4-minute walk from the Boztepe cable car station. For Mahmutbey and Sapanca, ask the location.

Who answers WhatsApp and how quickly?

The location's team answers. The locations told us that most reply within a short time and that it can take longer at busy times. We do not promise a specific response time, so if your day is close, write early and keep looking at other locations while you wait.

Is the spa open on public holidays and bayram?

The Maltepe location is open on public holidays. For the other locations, ask about bayram and special-day hours before your appointment. The list of public holidays is in Law No. 2429; it does not mean spas will be closed on those days, because each location decides its own working pattern.

Is the Uzungöl location open in winter?

No. The Uzungöl location is seasonal and is closed as of 20 October 2026. The location that works year-round in the same region is Trabzon; you can send a WhatsApp message to the Trabzon location from the notice on the Uzungöl page. For a reopening date, see the current notice on the Uzungöl location page.
