Massage Near Me in Istanbul and Trabzon: How a Visitor Finds a Hotel Spa, Checks the Hours and Books on WhatsApp

If you are in Turkey and typing "massage near me" into your phone, the answer comes down to three steps. Choose the location that suits where you are staying, find out whether it is open at the time you want and which language you can write in, then send a short WhatsApp message. This guide takes you through those steps for the six Beatus Spa locations in Istanbul and the one in Trabzon, and gives you a ready-to-send message in English.

This guide is written for English speakers who are in Turkey: visitors, hotel guests and residents. It covers only these two cities. For the detail of each location, follow the links to the location pages.

What does "massage near me" bring up in Turkey, and what is a hotel spa?

The results mix independent salons, hotel spas and day spas.

A hotel spa is the spa area inside a hotel, and it can also be open to people who are not staying there.

Search engines rank local results mainly by relevance, distance and prominence. Google's business profile help pages say so directly, and they add that if you have not shared your location, Google uses the one it already knows. So the top result for "near me" is not necessarily the one that suits you. Before "near", it helps to know what you want: a massage on its own, a hammam as well, or the pool and sauna too.

The Beatus Spa locations are inside hotels. You enter through a hotel lobby or car park, and the spa works on its own floor or in its own building. For a visitor this does two useful things: a hotel name or a district you already know makes it easy to find the way, and you can book without staying overnight.

Numbers help to put the two cities in proportion. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism's annual border statistics bulletin for 2025 shows 52,775,055 foreign visitors to Türkiye in 2025. The bulletin also breaks arrivals down by the province of the border gate: 18,972,699 foreign visitors (35.95 per cent) entered through Istanbul's border gates and 445,869 (0.84 per cent) through Trabzon's. These figures count entries; they do not show how many nights people stayed or how many used a spa. They are still a guide to the difference in scale between the two cities.

Do you have to stay at the hotel to book a massage?

No. At Beatus Spa locations you do not have to be a hotel guest: anyone who books an appointment can come in.

What is included differs slightly by location, and that is explained below.

This matters if "hotel spa" is a new idea to you. It is easy to assume that a hotel's spa belongs only to the people sleeping upstairs. Here there is no such rule, but a few details are worth knowing before you go:

  • Osmanbey: guests who take out a fitness membership can use the pool, sauna, steam room and gym. The hammams are open only to treatment guests, for the length of their session.
  • Maltepe: the hotel's pool is not open to spa guests. The location has a sauna and a steam room, and no hammam.
  • Uzungöl: the location is seasonal and is closed as of 20 October 2026. The location that is open all year on the Black Sea is Trabzon.
  • Pool: you may need a swimsuit and a swimming cap. At Mahmutbey, Güneşli, Trabzon and Ordu a cap is compulsory in the pool. Ask when you book.

For the order of things and the etiquette that first-time hotel spa visitors wonder about, see our first-time hotel spa guide, which goes step by step from the door to the relaxation room.

Which location suits where you are staying in Istanbul?

The one nearest to your hotel or district is usually the simplest choice.

In Istanbul there are locations around Taksim and Şişli, in Bağcılar, in Esenyurt and Beylikdüzü, and on the Asian side.

We cannot see where you are, so we cannot name a "nearest" location for you. What we can do is pair the area you are staying in with a location:

If you are staying inLocationGetting there
Taksim, ŞişliHarbiye10 min walk to Taksim metro (M2)
Şişli, OsmanbeyOsmanbey4 min walk to Osmanbey metro (M2)
BağcılarMahmutbey and GüneşliGüneşli: 3 min to Mimar Sinan metro (M9)
Esenyurt, BeylikdüzüEsenyurtNearest metrobus stop is Cumhuriyet
Asian sideMaltepe8 min walk to Maltepe metro (M4)

The walking times were measured with Google Maps on 7 October 2026 and are approximate. For Mahmutbey, use the directions link on the location page or ask the location how to get there. You can find metro routes and journey planning on the Metro Istanbul website, in its "Hatlarımız" (Our Lines) and "Nasıl Giderim" (How Do I Get There) sections.

Two locations sharing a district, Harbiye and Osmanbey in Şişli and Mahmutbey and Güneşli in Bağcılar, gives you a choice. You can take whichever has the date and time that suit you. If you are choosing between the Istanbul locations more broadly, our Istanbul spa page sets them side by side.

And in Trabzon, where is the location and how do you get there?

The Trabzon location is in Boztepe, inside the Radisson Blu Hotel Trabzon. You enter through the hotel lobby and the spa is on floor -4.

It is 10 minutes by car to Meydan square and 14 minutes to the airport.

The location's address is Soğuksu, Boztepe Mahallesi, Numan Gül Caddesi, Çamlık Sokak No:2, Ortahisar. The location told us that most of its guests come from the districts of Ortahisar, Akçaabat and Yomra. There is no separate shuttle for spa guests, so you arrange your own transport. Parking is free of charge and there is no valet. Wheelchair access is available.

The spa works on two floors. The lower floor has the pool, sauna, steam room and gym, and it is shared by women and men. The upper floor has the massage rooms, changing rooms for women, a steam room and the hammam, and it is reserved for women throughout the day. Whether the open-air pool opens each year is a decision of the hotel management, so ask before you go if the pool matters to you. The jacuzzi is inside the VIP room. There is also a couples' massage room.

If you have come to Trabzon to see the region, the city's own promotion sources help. The Ministry's Go Türkiye portal starts a one-day Trabzon route at Boztepe, presents Boztepe as the hill overlooking Trabzon, and places Sümela Monastery, in the Altındere Valley National Park, within an hour's drive of Boztepe. The Trabzon Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism lists Sümela Monastery, Uzungöl and Hagia Sophia among the places to visit. For a rest after a day out, see our things to do in Trabzon guide, and for the location's own details, the Trabzon location page. To compare the hotel spa locations across three cities, see the Trabzon, Ordu and Harbiye guide.

The Trabzon location is open every day from 07:00 to 23:00. The last appointment is one hour before closing for a massage and two hours before closing if you book a massage and the hammam together. For the evening hours in more detail, read Trabzon evening massage and hammam hours and last booking.

Which languages are spoken at each location?

It depends on the location. Some have English-speaking staff, but we do not say "every location". The table lists what each location reported.

The locations told us the languages their staff speak on 16 and 17 October 2026. Please use this table:

LocationLanguages spokenNote
OsmanbeyPersian, Spanish, EnglishAsk the location about Arabic
HarbiyeTurkish, English, IndonesianWhatsApp messages in Arabic are answered in Arabic
MahmutbeyTurkish, English, ChineseWhatsApp messages in Arabic are answered in Arabic
GüneşliEnglish, Persian
EsenyurtEnglish, Turkish, PersianReply in English or via a translation app
MaltepeTranslation appWrite short, simple sentences
TrabzonEnglishOther languages via a translation app
SapancaEnglishOther languages via a translation app
OrduTurkish, EnglishNo replies in Arabic

If you are writing in a language that is not in the table, short and simple sentences make life easier when a translation app is involved. On Arabic, the point to remember is that only Harbiye and Mahmutbey answer in Arabic on WhatsApp. For Trabzon and the other locations, writing in English or asking the location first is the surer way.

How do you check that a location is open when you want to go?

Look at the profile hours on the map, then ask on WhatsApp when the service you want starts and when the last appointment is.

Closing time and last appointment are not the same thing; at some locations massage starts later than the spa.

Google's help pages explain that a business can enter separate hours for special days such as holidays, and that a seasonal business can be marked "temporarily closed" outside its season. So the day you are going, check the hours both on the map and with the location. Three examples show why "open" is not enough: at Mahmutbey the spa opens at 08:00 but massage starts at 12:30; at Osmanbey the location closes at 22:00 and the last appointment is 21:30; and at Trabzon the last appointment is one or two hours before closing.

If you would like to see hours and last appointments for all ten locations in one table, read finding a massage and spa near you: hours and entry. The hours, last appointments and entrances are set out there location by location, and we do not repeat them here.

A quick summary of the hours for the locations in this guide, as they were reported to us:

  • Trabzon: 07:00–23:00.
  • Osmanbey and Güneşli: 08:00–22:00.
  • Harbiye, Esenyurt and Maltepe: 10:00–22:00.
  • Mahmutbey: the spa opens at 08:00 and massage starts at 12:30.

Treat these as a starting point and confirm the day you go.

How do you book a massage on WhatsApp?

Write the location, date, time range, number of people and the service. There is no online booking engine.

The number for each location is on the call card on its page.

Here is a message you can copy and send in English:

Hello, I would like to book a massage at your [location name] location on [date], between [time] and [time], for [number] person(s). Could you tell me which massage types are available, how long each one takes, and whether I can add the hammam or sauna? What is the last appointment time that day?

If the person replying is more comfortable in Turkish, you can add one line in Turkish below your message: "Merhaba, [şube adı] şubenizde [tarih] günü [saat] ile [saat] arasında [kişi sayısı] kişilik masaj randevusu almak istiyorum. Son randevu kaçta?"

What your message should not contain matters too. You do not need to give a passport number, a room number, health information, allergies or pregnancy. You can tell the massage specialist about any health matter at the start of the session. The location's team answers the message; the locations told us that most reply within a short time and that it can take longer at busy times. Ask about payment methods, cancellation and change terms, and any transfer from your hotel to the spa when you book.

If you would rather not type, you can phone the location; the number is on the same call card. There is no central phone line; every location has its own.

What happens in a session, what should you wear and is tipping expected?

At the start of a session you have a short conversation with the massage specialist, and you choose the pressure, the oil and the length together.

Peştemal, the cotton wrap, is provided at the location; ask about towels and slippers.

The consumer guide from the International SPA Association (ISPA) suggests arriving about 30 minutes before your session, silencing your phone, and saying so if the touch or the temperature of the room is uncomfortable. We would say the same. A useful sentence to have ready is: "Please tell your massage specialist if the pressure is too light or too strong."

On clothing, the locations told us that the peştemal is given to hammam and massage guests. If you will use the pool, bring a swimsuit and a swimming cap; caps are sold at Ordu, Mahmutbey and Trabzon. For the general picture, see what to wear for a massage.

If you would like a specific massage specialist, or have a preference, ask the location when you book; we do not promise a choice in advance, because arrangements differ by location.

On tipping, practice can differ by location. ISPA notes that tipping policy varies from one spa to another and that you can ask at check-in.

Which massage styles are on the menu?

The menu includes the Beatus Signature Massage, Relaxing Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Targeted Massage, Thai Massage, Thai Foot Massage, Asian Spell, Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi Nui, Mandara Four-Hands Massage and Abhyanga.

Which styles are done at which location is something to ask the location.

Not every style is done at every location. For example, hot stone massage is offered at Osmanbey, Harbiye, Esenyurt and Sapanca, and Balinese massage at Esenyurt and Maltepe. These are examples, not the complete menu of any location; if you are unsure about a style, ask. Our massage specialists also come from the Thai and Balinese massage traditions, and at Maltepe from the Balinese and Nepalese traditions.

To understand the differences between styles, our guide to types of massage goes into detail, and the general overview is on the massage page. If you are looking for a style you do not see on the menu, you can write its name in your message and ask the location. We do not publish figures for cost on the site.

What if you also want a hammam?

Most locations have a hammam. Maltepe does not.

Whether the hammam is separate for women and men or shared differs by location, and that is the part visitors are most often curious about.

This is what the locations reported. At Osmanbey, Mahmutbey and Harbiye the women's and men's hammams are separate; Harbiye also has a hammam for couples and single-person hammams. At Güneşli the hammam is set aside for each booking, and inside there are only the guest and the massage specialist. At Esenyurt the women's section has a hammam, a sauna, a steam room, a massage room and a relaxation area. At Trabzon the hammam is on the upper floor, reserved for women. At Ordu the hammam, sauna and steam room are shared; a woman guest's scrub and foam booking is planned when she reserves, and the hammam is set aside for her for the length of the session. Health note: if you have any health condition, are sensitive to heat or are pregnant, speak to your doctor first.

If the hammam is new to you, our Turkish bath glossary explains words such as peştemal, kese (the scrubbing mitt), foam and the göbek taşı (the heated central marble platform). The Ministry's Go Türkiye portal turns Istanbul's hammam culture into a two-day route; it includes hammams that have become museums, the Sultan Bayezid II Turkish Bath Culture Museum and the Zeyrek Çinili Hamam, as well as a hammam where you can experience the ritual yourself. The Culture Portal adds that Istanbul was reorganised in the Roman period, when baths and a hippodrome were built in the city. The hammams in our hotels are not historic buildings; they are services inside hotels. Our guide to the Turkish bath in Istanbul explains the difference between the two kinds, and the Turkish bath page describes the experience at Beatus Spa.

Can you come as a couple, or use a women-only area?

Yes. There is a couples' massage room at Osmanbey, Harbiye, Mahmutbey, Güneşli, Esenyurt, Maltepe, Sapanca, Trabzon and Ordu. Women-only areas depend on the location.

For a couples' booking, see the couples massage page. Esenyurt has two couples' rooms, one in the women's section and one in the men's section. The women-only areas are as follows. At Osmanbey, the sauna, steam room and hammam are reserved for women. At Mahmutbey there are separate wet areas for women and men. At Esenyurt the women's section has a hammam, sauna, steam room, massage room and relaxation area, and it is available throughout opening hours. At Trabzon the upper floor is reserved for women throughout the day. We do not present these as a ranking; they are here so that you can pick the arrangement that suits you.

How do you plan a day that combines sightseeing and a massage?

Fit the booking around the opening hours, the last appointment and the travel time. A simple plan in each city shows how.

In Istanbul, a Taksim day could end at Harbiye. The location is open 10:00–22:00 and the last appointment is 21:00. It is on floor -1, reached by stairs only, and it is a 10-minute walk from Taksim metro (M2), according to the Google Maps measurement of 7 October 2026. Our things to do in Taksim guide covers the day itself, and the Harbiye location page gives the location's details. You can pass this visitors' guide on to Arabic-speaking relatives.

In Trabzon, if you spend a day at Sümela Monastery, which Go Türkiye places within an hour's drive of Boztepe, you can plan the spa for the evening. The location is open until 23:00, and a massage on its own can be booked up to one hour before closing. If you want the hammam as well, allow two hours before closing and start earlier. As always, confirm the time on WhatsApp the same day.

What should you do about your health before you book?

If you have any health condition, are sensitive to heat or are pregnant, speak to your doctor before the sauna, hammam or a massage.

Tell the massage specialist at the start of the session instead of writing it in a WhatsApp message.

The US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) advises anyone thinking about having a massage to discuss their concerns with a health care provider first. The Harvard Health Publishing sauna page lists general precautions too: avoid alcohol before and after the sauna, cool down gradually, drink plenty of water, do not use the sauna if you are ill, and leave if you feel unwell. We are not giving medical advice here; we are passing on general sources.
